No, Gates was never a Elon, he was a thief that cashed in because IBM didn't give a shit where the OS they wanted to put on their PCs came from as long as it was cheap.

So Gates, Allan and Ballmer called a real OS programmer they knew, lied through their teeth about what they planned to do with his OS, gave him pennies compared to what they got from IBM and the rest is history.
