Kiwi pede here. This is how it went:

Australia: "Lets investigate this jihadi bride".

NZ: "OK".

Australia: "Yes, she's definitely a dangerous psycho. We aren't letting her in. Nor should you".

NZ: "REEE We have to let her in!"

Be grateful for Scott Morisson, Aussies, he's not perfect, but at least he has enough sense to realise importing jihadis is madness.

This. The liberal party under Morrison ARE establishment swamp, both sides of the table are and always have been.

But even our lot only have limited patience for all the crazies on the communist left. I don’t see any of them taking Ardern seriously.

I read it like this:

Turkey: We caught a terrorist and she has dual citizenship in AUS and NZ, which of

Australia: NOT IT

New Zealand: NO FAIR

That's how JA sees it.

But the context is that Australia and NZ have argued these two things repeatedly over the last decade:

  1. The stripping of jihadis citizenship
  2. The deportation of criminals. Australia (rightly) does both, New Zealand does neither (it deports on paper but hardly ever does).

So it's more like: Australia: Stop jihadis returning.

NZ: No, they need hugs.

Australia: Seriously, strip their citizenship away.

NZ: Only hugs conquer hate, also free stuff.

Australia: Try it. Also, get rid of serious criminals.

NZ: No, we will NEVER do such things. (Publicly) YOU ARE EVIL!

Australia: Suit yourselves, but we're not following your stupidity.

(Repeat argument for 5-10 years.)

Then when jihadi bride shows up: Australia says: Not it (Meaning: Here we go again, watch carefully, this is how it's done).

NZ says: OMG no fair! (Meaning: What, we thought we could guilt you into conceding).
