They aren't. Let them apply the same scrutiny to an actual recall election. Until they do, there is no "double standard" because the two situations aren't the same or even similar enough to matter.
The only difference is one is more obviously a sham than the other. They're both parts of the "democratic" process, you just can REALLY OBVIOUSLY CHEAT to keep power when it's a recall petition that your own people are counting.
Petitions and ballots should have the same standards. If the standard for an error on a petition line is that strict, the standard for ballots should be the same. If all error ballots were thrown out, as they should have been, POTATUS wouldn't be in office.
