We were not founded by immigrants, there was previously no country to immigrate to, and if we cut off immigration entirely today we would be just fine and probably better in fact.
irish and italian immigrants from the 1800s are now part of our country, arent they? nobody has anything against them. we have italian neighborhoods in cities. we have pizza everywhere. they haven't harmed the country and have in some ways benefited us. immigration isn't always bad, it just needs to be controlled
But I'm not arguing that. I am saying we were not founded by immigrants not that we haven't been influenced. I am saying we no longer need this importation and influence. Your argument frankly sounds a little bit like the ones I hear lefties make about Latino immigrants, "what would we do without the tacos and avocados?" We would be just fine without it. I agree that it needs to be controlled but in my mind that control comes in the form of a 20 to 30 year complete moratorium. We are not a developing nation anymore and 3rd world cultures do not belong here.
