So...there was only one race prior to worldwide colonial growth by Europeans? Does that mean all the discrimination between the different "white" nations didn't really happen? Did all other people who weren't arbitrarily labeled as white all get along before the Europeans invited "race"?
These people are welcome to head on back to Africa where blacks run the show, and after hundreds of years a couple of them are finally clawing their way out of that cesspool, into something resembling a modern country.
Dr. Muluna Karenga must be another Dr. Jill Biden, educated beyond her intellect. Even pre-literate societies with no formal written language recognize ethnic distinctions between tribes of the same color, including Native American First Nation peoples. RACE AND COLOR ARE NOT SYNONYMS---hence it being illegal to discriminate on the basis of race OR color. If race is a social construct created by white men, then explain to us, oh learned doctor, how the Tutsis and Hutus of Africa came to despise each other. Or how the Egyptians and the Nubians did, and why the lighter-skinned Egyptians considered themselves superior to the extremely dark skinned Nubians in a skin color gradation system? Or why lighter skin is prized above dark skin in India's caste system which goes back millennia, predating the Western European scientific research into ethnic differences or the phenomenon of the Transatlantic slave trade (for centuries run by the Arab world in Africa, even to this very day,)? Crickets. That's right, you can't. All the Western white men did was provide the phenomenon with scientific terminology to be able to discuss it. P.S. My street creds: I have a PhD and two master's degree, one of the graduate degrees is in history of non-Western civilizations, and the PhD is in the history of ideas of Western Civilization.
I looked up Maulana Karenga because I have never heard of him. He was a black separatist/nationalist who invented Kwanzaa and was at one point sentenced to 10 years in prison for torturing a woman. So the city council is creating policy based on a racial militant, and they think they are doing God's work or something. That's just great.
