There are new strains of flu every fucking year.
Covid was blown up in order to scare the bejeezers out of sheeple, lock them down, and transfer wealth to multinational conglomerates and to the politicians to whom they donate.
And near everyone was involved .. knowingly involved, or just because they were too stupid or too proud to see the scam and quickly adjust policy accordingly.
