There’s been a big disparity there between the average person and those in power over them, and when it was barbaric communists it was horrific. Look up the “Cristeros War + communist Masonic” - basically a communistic government takeover by people who despised their own citizens decided to basically outlaw being Catholic....in Mexico.

Murdered and tortured people of all ages - hellish things were done. The people fought back amazingly, organized big militias, communication and supply lines, did as best they could without being able to get the amount of ammo they needed to hold all the territory they gained back. Didn’t concede, but were tricked and politically betrayed. There’s some heavy history down there, and sadly many have already forgotten when and how socialist politik was introduced.
