There are way too many people on here that seem to believe they have expert knowledge on anything and everything. I thought only liberals believed themselves to be so highly educated. If someone asks a question, don't come down on them and call them an idiot. Give a little bit of your knowledge or understanding without being so damn condescending. That is what is wrong with most of humanity. Too many people believe themselves to be above everyone else.

I'm knowledgeable about very few things, but I know for certain and will never back down on:

  • Trump won the 2020 election in a landslide
  • Epstein didn't kill himself
  • Bill Clinton is a rapist

SPEZ: imagine being the one soyboy who downvoted this

We definitely agree on those things

I’d add:

  • Big Mike is a man

That is everywhere on the internet and it isn’t likely to ever change as long as anonymous posting is still allowed.

You are correct. Very easy to spout off and not think twice about how it comes across when that person is not sitting in front of you.

I agree. I think there is a certain lack of compassion and understanding among some posters here. We have to remember that we are in this together, and we should be focused on lifting each other up.

I also think it is important to note that my desire for "lifting each other up" does not mean we all have to think the same or agree with one another. Disagreement is fine. In fact, it is quite healthy (and our desire to engage with disagreement is why so many people flock to our side nowadays). But I think some posters do need to take a step back and be mindful of who they are talking to—fellow Americans with the same MAGA spirit, plus patriots abroad that want the best for our country—and form their posts in kind.

I don't always live up to my ideals, but it would be great if people posting imagined a human being right in front of them before shooting off an obnoxious comment. And I occasionally apologize! I think apologies are very underrated.

6
Miracle_on_Ice 6 points ago +6 / -0

I agree about apologies. I think some people approach online forums as an "I have to engage in defeating others' ideas" sort of affair... and I can get the desire for one to want people to believe as they do... but I think one makes better inroads that way if they genuinely engage with other people, which includes recognizing, "Oops, I misunderstood your point, I realize my point might not be clear or make sense to everyone else, I am not understanding your point; can you elaborate" etc. A lot of conflict does come from misunderstandings and a lack of ability to identify them (or if it is identified, then not recognizing it aloud). Plus, adopting such an approach strengthens one's viewpoint and logic.

I recently responded to someone's post with humor because I usually do, and because I thought the original post was funny. The poster responded angrily and I backed off and apologized! You can't always sense the "tone of voice" correctly in a written post!

Depends on the question. We do get a lot of trolls on here. I tend to ignore them on their own posts, but sometimes it's hard not to engage with them.

4
teevee89 [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

I understand there are always going to be trolls that just sit at their computer stuffing their face with cheetos and bullying others because they hate life but some people just believe themselves to be above others in everything. Those are the ones I just get sick of.

I can't help it if I'm a renaissance man with knowledge across many diverse fields. But I do admit to having a low threshold of tolerance for those who insist that we practice insanity by doing the same failed things and expecting different results.

5
teevee89 [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

Even those of us that are not as knowledgeable in many diverse fields know when somethings just not working for us. ;)

Marshall2 5 points ago +5 / -0

Father, give us courage to change what must be altered, serenity to accept what cannot be helped, and the insight to know the one from the other.

I like this earlier version of the Serenity Prayer better than the more passive one commonly quoted.

I love this site and everyone on it. In the past 4-5 years I have learned SO MUCH about politics. Who to trust and who not to trust. This site is a politians worst nightmare, but I think if they read it instead of labeling us cyber terrorists they would learn so much too. Sometimes I just get excited about certain things, and I hope I haven’t been guilty of making anyone here feel bad, because I come here feeling pretty stupid and leave here feeling much smarter at the end of the day. Let’s all be good to each other.

3

I enjoy sharing knowledge that I do have. And I enjoy learning new things from others. But honestly it gets wearying how lazy many people are about looking up the easy stuff for themselves. They literally have the resources right at their fingertips.

3
teevee89 [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

That is true. Everything you need to know can be researched rather than depending on others to fill you in.

3
GuyOnABuffalo 3 points ago +3 / -0

People have been on edge in here since Nov.

A lot of people have low EQ and don't know how to manage stress. Wind up lashing out to make themselves feel better.

Yesterday I posted a link and it had a tracking issue. I had never known this. Someone here kindly informed me of my error and how to correct it. I believe most people here are kind and good. (A few bad apples now and then do pop up.). But also remember how we ourselves react makes a difference as well. I try to always be respectful and this helps. So far almost all my interactions with others have been good. I’m thankful for this group.

But if someone is disrespectful you can always report them if truly out of line but most times it’s best to move on. They may just be having a bad day and took it out on an anonymous person. Doesn’t make it right but it happens.

2
teevee89 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Most are very helpful and respectful. I have only had a couple of jerks comment in all the time on here. My rant not only pertained to my experience but what I have read on others posts as well. Such is life, there are always going to be ass holes and sometimes it helps to rant. :)

3
MeatShield72 3 points ago +3 / -0

Preach.

Part of it is tone. You can't discern tone through text. Unless of course it is clearly obvious.

1
teevee89 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Most of the time, that is correct.

3
jomten 3 points ago +3 / -0

Fucking idiot.

Lol jk. Maybe its because I grew up on 4chan where you get called every slur in the book by dudes typing one handed beating off to anime porn, but im pretty impervious to online harassment.

Occasionally you hear a fresh and interesting view, but for the most part people let others make up their minds for them on things, then defend someone elses idea like its sacrilegious to disagree with it

2
vote_for_MAGA_2020 2 points ago +2 / -0

My favoritest slur from 4chan?

“Oh yeah? Wel you’re a double ni**er”

I read that once years ago. I don’t know why, but to this very day, that makes me laugh.

2
teevee89 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I am not an expert in internet slang and I am pretty literal but bullying can be deciphered pretty easily anywhere. I have learned a lot on here from some very gracious people. I won't lose any sleep over the assholes but just hope some people can be a little more courteous to others. Hell, we have to deal with the other side everyday so our side should be a little bit more understanding. lol

1
jomten 1 point ago +1 / -0

“How tf is internet bullying real, you can close your eyes”

-tyler the creator probably

2
teevee89 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Bullying on the internet happens just as in person. Some take it very much to heart, especially the very young. I just don't care for all the know it all idiots that talk down to people. That was the rant in a nutshell.

2
jomten 2 points ago +2 / -0

Your right, just gotta know to not take the words of anyone with the major character flaw of being an asshole to strangers to heart.

Its a process, wont happen overnight.

Relevant to that, the loudest/angriest political leftards typically have huge problems at home. Instead of addressing the actual home problems it comes out in politics.

Sometimes they cant even identify/verbalize whats going on in their life thats causing it.

2
teevee89 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

A lot of truth to that. I don't waste my time dealing with assholes on the internet, I just block them and move along. One day I may not have too many people to converse with but I will be ok with that. ;)

3
vote_for_MAGA_2020 3 points ago +3 / -0

I’m a genius that knows everything. I csnt help myself.

Put yourself in my shoes. Imagine being a genius who knows everything who has to deal with dumb people who don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground. Do you know how maddening this is??

Well, I am truly sorry for your pain. ;)

Willful ignorance is wrong, and it should not be tolerated. Much of the rest is simple frustration.

Let me guess- you think we should vote harder.

5
teevee89 [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

You know, I do have to say I am a very literal person and don't always pick up on sarcasm but it's the meanness and bullying that some people use to bring themselves up that I cannot tolerate. If someone asks a question or just posts something they find interesting, why do others feel the need to be so condescending, that's all. Willful ignorance is very frustrating indeed but maybe there is still hope for those willfully ignorant.

2
DeadOverRed 2 points ago +2 / -0

Hmm, you may be describing a level of condescension that I barely pay attention to. I'm not as hopeful as you, but I'm hopeful enough to hope you're right.

1
teevee89 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I know many have lost faith in humanity and I can be that way as well. I still try to be hopeful everyday but human compassion and decency has been slipping away for many years.

It’s the after math of everything that’s been going on. People have allowed themselves to get too on edge and as a result they are basically lashing out at people on this site.

They’re free to do so. But it’s just unproductive. Sadly months of people posting about how elections no longer matter and now all is lost hasn’t helped.

We’ve lost some of what made this site great, which was its patriotic, upbeat and welcoming atmosphere.

Hopefully we can get that back, because being able to support each other is what our side needs now more then anything.

1
teevee89 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Very well said. I joined because of the patriotism and like minded people. It's been mostly great. Just a few idiots but that's life.
