What is this about? Is the implication they're seriously just eventually gonna cancel the show and leave the time slot up for grabs? The EIB network will cease to exist?
I, like probably everyone in this thread, have tried multiple times getting through on the program. I never succeeded over the years. Even before Rush's diagnosis- and even more after- I wanted to ask him what his plans for the show were for after he retired or passed. This article seems to suggest Rush planned for the show to end with him. I can't say I'm totally surprised. I can almost hear Rush explaining this.
"I'm the show. It's named after me. I don't do guests regularly. Continuing the show after me is an extension of that. Without me there is no Rush Limbaugh Program."
haha...blunt, simple honesty. This was never said, but I can almost hear Rush saying it. It's not an answer I would ever want to hear or accept. Steyn has always seemed like the most obvious successor. I used to hate when he guest hosted. Over the course of the last eight years or so though I really came to love him. Before Rush's diagnosis I can say I'd even get a little happy to hear his voice come on ever so infrequently just for a little touch of a difference.
Since the election steal Steyn has gone a lot darker as many of us have. He doesn't have as much humor. His frustration is evident. He raises his voice more. If it's his new norm maybe he's no longer the right guy. If it's just a stint of frustration though, I say he's the appropriate successor.
More on this last paragraph; Rush was never or rarely like this. Never upset. In fact I've been flabbergasted and upset in his lack of being upset since the election!!! He hardly touched all the evidence of the steal. I know there were several occasions he addressed it, aspects of it, and frequently mentioned- like all right-wing show hosts now- that he couldn't say much about it without being taken off the air.
The point is his perspective and attitude were unique. Steyn would need to at least be the man he was pre-2020 election steal to attempt to fill the boots. Even then, we're still down. The perspective can't be replicated or replaced. I'll never be able to share that with my young children now. Everything we love is dying in this country now.

Do you think Rush blinked when he saw Levin and Bongino threatened by Cumulus Media? And realized despite his clout he would be next?
Because you are so so so so correct.
https://www.newsweek.com/mark-levin-dan-bongino-among-talk-radio-stars-warned-stop-stolen-election-talk-corporate-boss-1560698
Mark said that was fake news and continued talking about election fraud. I don’t listen to Bongino much so idk if he said the same.
Rush was way too big to ever get cancelled. They knew he had the power to destroy anyone that messed with him.
Bongino also said it was fake.
Really? GOOD to hear. I can't imagine Levin being intimidated by anything esp. an unconstitutional curb on his 1st Amendment rights.
At the least, If they are young enough, Rush Revere books.
