You probably aren't even in Texas dude. Or you are in Texas and you had electricity and don't even have a job. Nobody in Texas says knickers. We went without power for a week in sub freezing tempuratures. Energy producers did not adequately prepare and you were lucky if you had even intermittent power. I had employees drive an hour and a half on ice to come to work only to have the power shut off an hour after they arrived which closes us down. People here don't even have winter clothes. I can drive on snow but the person who rear ended me couldn't. It got so cold that in my city and the city over the city main water busted. It's not just cold weather it's bad infrastructure. There are people that will pay more in electricity for a few days than they would normally in an entire year. Families died because they didn't know to vent your home if you are burning natural gas or propane indoors. Livestock froze to death. Yeah everything is going back to normal now but if people want to complain they can. This whole situation didn't need to happen. It's not like people expect to get help from the Feds but atleast Trump would have made an appearance. Natural disasters seldom do as must damage as this.

All true. And I didn't expect it either. I didn't have any special supplies. I didn't even have a cooler to put my frozen food in and stick it outside. I just had a couple of boxes of protein bars, a couple of packs of water bottles, a few extra blankets, and a few long-sleeve wool shirts.
First day of The Troubles, I walked to the gas-station and bought popcorn, jerky, and canned coffee. Second day, the roads weren't so bad, and I drove to the store to buy a bunch of boxed shit. That was when the power went out, and I realized I didn't have any propane, charcoal, wood, a fireplace, or a barbecue.
I had two miserable days of sittin inside, reading while sun was out, and considering whether or not I should use my candles. I ended up lighting a few the last day before power came back at 1:30 in the morning, because I couldn't sleep and I was bored.
The coldest my house got down to was 27 degrees in livingroom. I probably didn't need to shutoff the water, but I had. Was a pain in the ass. And a pain getting everything started again.
I literally just now finished cleaning up all the extra mess I made melting snow for the toilets, wrapping fixtures in newspapers, etc.

Haha pretty much same here. Had protein bars and water bottles. Fortunately I have a gas fireplace so I kept fairly warm. I had intermittent power so I was able to charge up some power bricks. Walked down to Walmart to download movies on their wifi while pretending to shop. Internet went down last Friday and still isn't back up. Some dipshit rear ended me because he gunned it when I inched forward at a dead traffic light.
I almost slid out of my driveway and just decided not to drive until the roads were clearer.
Apparently now there are no road problems, because traffic is DUMMY THICC. It took me 90min to get to HEB, and the line was wrapped around the store. :shrug: I just decided to eat some canned soup until food is more available. I'm getting real tired of it, but not Green Raw Deal (re: Orc Dicked) tired of it.
