I don’t really see this as him apologising to the left, but more damage limitation of the mask slipping and his true colours being on show.

He’s all for small government, but it’s that government which has given him a position to be able to afford to run away from his problems. Combine this with him calling Democrats who fled Austin during COVID and it seems like just more government employees rules for ye but not for me attitudes.
