That is clearly their plan. They want to portray Republicans (really, anyone on the right) as racist terrorists to justify the coming crackdown. They want to inspire right-wing terror attacks so they can confiscate guns, etc.
If they treat me like an enemy combatant, I’ll start acting like an enemy combatant. There’s no way their plan could fail, right?
But you see, that's what they want. They are playing up the threat of "right-wing terror" because they want right-wing terror. They control the White House, Congress, the media, the school systems, social media, and a lot else. It's a trap.

We need a constitutional amendment banning anonymous sources and proscribing capital punishment for all journalists that make stuff up.
But on a certain level, it doesn't matter if it's made up. They're either thinking this way or they want Republicans to think they are thinking this way. The end result is the same: ramping up tensions and division.
They wouldn't have any power if you guys just stopped using Twitter and having their views spread.
