What this about voting? That's so 2016. Now a days The machines vote for you.

It's the same algorithm that lines up your Hulu shows. "We see you enjoyed RuPauls' Drag Race, so we cast a democrat vote for you as a time saving service!"

More like “we see you’ve never watched Ru Paul’s drag race, so we will continue to put Ru Paul’s drag race on your recommended list until you watch it bigot”

I've never understood thos algorithms. Guess it's just proof that we are all individuals but they are never even close to the things I watch. I think it's more like, hey here is what we want you to watch now because you aren't getting a good enough diet of it. Netflix I just had to cancel.

Algorithms are pretty dumb sometimes.

Because I've gone to Caribbean dive resorts in the past, I get a lot of ads for Caribbean dive resorts. The problem is, there's one resort in particular that I get spam from nonstop. I'll never go to this resort because the keep dolphins captive, but the algorithm can't figure out that spamming me with an ad for a place I hate is only going to motivate me to recruit others to my view of that resort.

I could be nice and tell the resort to quit wasting their money on counter-productive ads, but they deserve what they don't get.

When I was young, I used to get a lot of targeted ads in Arabic trying to sell me boner pills. I read some weird shit on the internet, I know. But to say I was the opposite of their target demographic is almost an understatement.

About that same time, P&G did a big ad buy for family stuff, mostly baby but also just health stuff in general. I mean big ad buy: everyone got these ads, they were just put all over the internet for everyone period. There were a few products I didn't realize existed, and I bought them.

... Just sayin' to any ad guys here: that's how bad it was 10 years ago, and it's only gotten worse.

Ban voting machines.
