I agree with your point. 100 years ago I don't think I would have been considered white in America, I can get pretty swarthy in the summer. They base whiteness off of if you are successful. Irish are successful, well I guess they're white. Italians are successful, well I guess they're white. Jews are successful, well I guess they're white. Asians are successful well we consider them white now too.
When they say white, they mean the middle class. That's what's happening here. The billionaires are appeasing the poor by redistributing the wealth of the middle class. Race is just the easiest way to make the sale.
