I agree with your point. 100 years ago I don't think I would have been considered white in America, I can get pretty swarthy in the summer. They base whiteness off of if you are successful. Irish are successful, well I guess they're white. Italians are successful, well I guess they're white. Jews are successful, well I guess they're white. Asians are successful well we consider them white now too.
