Like, I need it for work and all, but on weekends or vacations, on feel fine without it, despite 5+ years straight of heavy drinking.
Guess I'm lucky, as I've heard of many getting headaches without it.
The only drugs I like other than caffeine are Kratom, Alcohol... Very occasionally marijuana (used to be a stoner, but began to her anxiety, so stopped enjoying being high).

The headaches are normally from lack of water/hydration.
That is normal, and most don't drink a lot of water when they drink a large amount.
Headaches can be from hyper stress tension from being too hyped up as well. Just depends on the person.

It is owned by KDP, but is distributed by Pepsi where I live. I work for an Anheuser Busch distributor that also sells KDP products, among many other suppliers. Dr. Pibb is not available here as far as I'm aware

Same here. Dr. Pepper made, bottled and distributed by Pepsi. In this area also though, there are some 10% or so retail/restaurants that have Coke products, but also have Dr. Pepper instead of Pibb. Not sure how that works between the contentious rivalry they have in this area.... Probably along the lines of Husky's comment above.
Dr. Pepper isn't a Coke or Pepsi product. Some Pepsi distributors carry it, some Coke distributors carry it. Depends where you live.

Yeah it’s just distribution rights and the company that distributes Coca-Cola (KO) is a separate company named Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE). Dr. Pepper is distributed either by Coca-Cola or Pepsi depending on the area. They were independently owned 15 years ago at least.

They changed their formula and tried to be more like Pepsi that does not have the cocaine leaf derivative like Coke did. Everybody hated it and sales plummeted. Classic was actually a third formulation. It wasn't the same as the original coke either, but it was close.
Conspiracy theory is that they just switched to New Coke in the interim because they wanted to change from Coke I to Coke III anyways, but if they did it immediately, everyone would be pissed. So they introduced "New Coke" for 6 mos. to distract everyone, and people were just happy to get back Coke III afterwards once they tasted the shitty ass new Coke and didn't notice the difference b/w it and the first one.
