yep. I went from neutral/sympathetic towards their plight to staunch reject of additional handouts and special treatment. They can (and should) get the same treatment as everyone else. Black privilege is real. If you're black you've benefitted from it. Just because you're not rich doesn't mean you haven't benefitted from it. Just because you work hard doesn't mean you haven't benefitted from it. Benefits accrue automatically and they compound over generations.
Umm I’m Appalachian and am descended from poor farmers and coal miners as far back as I can trace, My family has never benefited from being white if we had we wouldn’t have grew up in shitty trailer parks and had everything we own repossessed. I got myself out of poverty by not whining about it and working hard, which seems to be a hard concept for some people to grasp.

My grandfather worked in the sun with stage 4 cancer. My other one was a plumber and built his house with rocks from his land. My dad worked 30 years after putting himself through college to start a restaurant he still has to work at while running two other jump starts. My mom, the same; shes always had multiple jobs. I have 6 income streams i built from the ground up.
