In my opinion it should be Rand Paul. Although Matt Gaetz and Desantis are absolutely awesome and have been more “loyal,” I think Rand Paul is the best choice.

The Paul family predates Desantis and Gaetz, it even predates Trump. They were holding down the fort and defending the constitution before Trump showed up. Rand would be more than a yes man for Trump. And if you look back, when Trump got in trouble it was due to being surrounded by yes men: worthless lawyers who would tell him he’s always right but would never deliver. Worthless sycophants who sucked his dick only to stab him in the back.

When Rand opposed Trump, he had a good, principled reason. This is the kind of wingman Trump needs - not a Judas Pence who pretends to support him.

The other reason: Trump’s biggest flaw in my opinion is a lack of a clear philosophy. Besides “patriotism” it was never really clear where Trump would come out on an issue or what his guiding principle would be. He’d make great decisions but it was always based on his gut. Now that he has gone kind of silent, his supporters are fighting each other because we don’t really know what to do without his leadership.

Rand Paul has a clear philosophy. It’s the same as Scalia’s: follow the damn constitution and honor the founders. Trump understandably had bigger issues to deal with than being a constitutional nerd/purist - he was literally fighting for the life of our nation. But going into the future, I think we need to get back to constitutionalism as our guiding principle even more than American nationalism. Rand Paul would bring real constitutional conservatives to MAGA and grow our movement. He is a good “middle ground” option to entice people to join MAGA and leave the cuckservatives siding with Mconnell.
