Odd since the vaccine hasn't been shown to prevent transmission, only symptoms. So at worst the employer would be avoiding an employee calling out sick for a week. It has no bearing on workplace safety.

Vaccine makes a ton of sense for high risk individuals, like the elderly or those with underlying health issues. If you vaccinate those, you cut the mortality rate by 90% and it's no worse than the seasonal flu.
The organizations that make the employment rules already gave permission months ago for businesses etc to fire employees if they refuse to get vaccinated after the company orders it. The source article says that and I wasn't aware of it until this case popped up.
If I remember one of the Judge Judy cases right, if a woman is sufficiently pregnant, then they could be considered 'disabled' in a sense legally. I'm not sure if this applies in NYC. If it did, then this means business in NYC business could be sued for discrimination against disability.

The thing that sucks is theatres (movie and live), sport arenas, concert venues, airlines, and others have said they won't allow anyone to use their facilities or services without proof of vaccination. And I've even heard restuarant owners and bar owners say it too. So who knows where it will end. Will we be allowed to buy groceries or gas without one? There won't be much to do and I guess I'll be confined to driving to my place in Florida if that actually happens.
