There's nothing racist about zwarte Piet. He is the guy who makes children laugh and gives them candy and presents, so hopefully they aren't too scared of the old white guy Sinterklaas. Sinterklaas is the real mean dude, he knows if you've been good or bad this year. If you've been bad you get the 'roe', a bundle of twigs, or the really bad kids are going to be put in a bag and taken to Spain. Scary old child trafficker.

I have real fond memories of zwarte Piet, of Sinterklaas not so much.
