I have zero interest in games but I can actually confirm that Mainland China had untold millions of these kids on 'LOL' with uncountable multiple accounts. They'd often be showing me something and I noticed many many times they'd stop and sign out then sign back into a different account. I didn't actually know why that is but as you said it might be.. what, they get some gold coins with one character and who knows. They had every scheme in the world and plenty had access to a credit card whereby they'd purchase some powers. It was madness, it was like every single male under the age of 30 and they played that games 20 hours a day somehow. Insane.

Almost reminds me of reddit where something like 50% of the traffic doesn't even come from the USA....hence the reason you see so many people there saying "socialism is great" and america hating going on there.
