Take, League of legends, they will say they have 70 of million actual users, with 12 million daily players.
What that really is, is 10 Million basement dwelling neckbeard incels logging into their 7 accounts daily to troll gold elo and below. Making damn sure that when you are doing your placements you ain't going 10-0, you are going 6-4 and their ain't a damn thing your probably D1 cs like a champ ass is gonna do about it!
"Whenever I see this I wonder who in the world is accurately valued."
More than you'd think. Just like "news" outlets like CNN have to mix in enough real journalism to keep their believers, Wall Street only manipulates some stocks and the rest trade somewhat freely. Same for bonds; they are manipulated, but not to the extent that honest players will throw up their hands in disgust.
"Valuations happen by every person unqualified to determine such a thing."
Ok, I am qualified to determine such a thing. I've been in the investment business for 22 years now, and I'm pretty good at what I do. The majority of the non C-suite players in the markets are good actors, but they kid themselves by not seeing the big grift that underlies it all.
That said, a lot of the public facing numbers are rigged for a narrative.
"Assuming rational actors is the biggest scam of economics, serving mostly to keep the various gambling and pension siphoning activities going."
Almost spot on. Remember, the grifters need enough honest actors to keep the game going. They try really hard to avoid the banana republic stuff like Bernie Madoff from scaring away the needed sheep.
Madoff was a stupid grifter, but he was connected and they tried to protect him.
You're right in thinking it's a rigged game, but this insider suggests they can't go full retard because they don't have total control and still need sheep.
They currently do not under most accounting rules.
But they do generate revenue by selling overvalued stock and overpriced advertisement. Basically, Wall Street uses metrics like "eyeballs" and "growth trajectory" to justify lofty price targets, the market accepts it, and they are crowd-financed.
It's a Ponzi until they can actually find a way to monetize a cesspool that also circumvents Constitutional Law.
I have zero interest in games but I can actually confirm that Mainland China had untold millions of these kids on 'LOL' with uncountable multiple accounts. They'd often be showing me something and I noticed many many times they'd stop and sign out then sign back into a different account. I didn't actually know why that is but as you said it might be.. what, they get some gold coins with one character and who knows. They had every scheme in the world and plenty had access to a credit card whereby they'd purchase some powers. It was madness, it was like every single male under the age of 30 and they played that games 20 hours a day somehow. Insane.
I thought being a "seduction expert" would meant he sounded a little more manly than a balloon slowly losing air. I'd never listened to him before seeing him in some documentary and laughed my ass off when he popped up.
The problem here is not that they're tweeting but that they are not the only people on Twitter..
Is 350 million other people on twitter. And even if 80% of all the tweets are made up of 10% of the accounts that just means that those 10% have a much larger voice to reach 350 million people..
350 million people are being influenced by 10% of Twitter..

This isn't even accounting for Dupe accounts.
It's like any "popular" online game.

Sorry... flashbacks...
This does feed into the narrative that Twitter's investment "metrics" are fabricated and the stock is beyond overvalued.
Whenever I see this I wonder who in the world is accurately valued.
