Texan here, I live in Dallas. It's been pretty damn rough and I've had it easy compared to some (have yet to lose power). What's happened that sucks?
My apartments warer main for fire sprinkler system burst right behind my apt. It shares a wall with the control room... thousands and thousands of dollars worth of damage, carpet had to be ripped up, everything that was on the ground (lots of electronics) destroyed. That was a few days ago.
The next day a pipe burst above me. Came down from the ceiling and flooded me again.
They shut off water to the whole building, just came back on earlier today.
Tonight another pipe burst in the wall/above me, they had to come in and get the water up and tear up my wall to fix it.
Waters off again.
What else.. a few days ago there was a 130 + car pileup with lots of deaths on the route I take to work.
Plenty of my coworkers without power.
Grocery stores barren.
But ya all things considered it could be worse.
Texas isn't built for this weather. I'm about out of food, let's hope its a quick return to normal.
