Funnily enough, the Netflix show Dracula says that last point exactly. Dracula wakes up in modern day England and breaks into a home. The next morning the owner finds him on the couch watching TV and he tells her she lives in the lap of luxury to which she says "this place? It's a dump" and he tells her emperor's of the past would throw away their fortunes to live like her. It's always amazing to me how un-self-aware some of these leftists can be..... Cause you know there ain't any conservatives working on these scripts

I cook a lot, my spice cabinet alone would be worth kingdoms in the ancient world.

As recently as 1930 people were fighting just to get salt.

When Gandhi’s Salt March Rattled British Colonial Rule

As with many other commodities, Britain had kept India’s salt trade under its thumb since the 19th century, forbidding natives from manufacturing or selling the mineral and forcing them to buy it at high cost from British merchants. Since salt was a nutritional necessity in India’s steamy climate, Gandhi saw the salt laws as an inexcusable evil.
