For apologizing. My letter to him below:
Sir, I find your trip to Cancun very disappointing. One - that you cut the trip short based on fear of perception. Two - that you apologized to the radical left.
Never apologize to them - people of double standards are not worth apologizing to. Nancy Pelosi did not apologize for her nail salon visit during a lockdown. It will never be enough for them - they will always have you backpedaling and judge you against values they don't hold Democrats to.
We are pragmatic people, not people of optics like the left. You have no operational role on the ground. Would have been better for you to tell a reporter from the beach "I encourage any Texan who has a safe place to go where there is heat, power, and water and who is not involved in restoration on the ground to do so until this crisis is over. Meanwhile I've been in contact with authorities and have done X, Y, and Z to mobilize support and from here I'm well able to continue to push for relief while also keeping my family safe and unburdening the utility system."
Ted Cruz paraded his own mother to warn us of the dangers of Communists.... then did nothing to save America from the Communists. He condemned the Jan 6th patriots more than the mob that attacked Republicans and their families in the streets of DC.
Texas was in a "all hands on deck" emergency and he pulled a Biden level "let me know how everything turns out" move. Trump would have been making calls, getting shit done, secretly writing checks, and personally handing out supplies. Not larping as an Aristocrat over the have nots.
Americans are facing domestic travel restrictions, vaccine permission slips, and had to cancel their vacations for the last year.
Texas is a border state... that stresses border security with Mexico... and Republicans are criticizing Biden's unrestricted travel between Mexico and America...
I can think of over a dozen reasons why Ted Cruz can eat ALL the dicks and he deserves every last bit of this. I don't care if it's just my neighborhood, I don't bail on a community in need... Plus, my vacations are in America.
