Government controls where your kids goes, how long to stay there, what they'll do there, and put you in prison of you don't send them.
School was only needed because too many were illiterate, school is no longer needed. Parents just need to start being parents again. Teach them what you know and how to teach themselves what they need to know. They are apprentices not roommates.
Too late.

I've got a newborn sleeping on my chest right now, my first child.
I've been thinking a lot about how to educate him.
I can teach everything through high school and about half of college math/physics.
But what to do after that? Maybe we work through the text books together?
Maybe by that point he'll be able to teach himself through research etc... ?
I taught myself to code and switched careers at 30 years old, taught myself to weld, teaching myself to hunt, teaching myself to play guitar etc...
Maybe just being an example is enough to get him to educate himself?
