Yeah, the vacation thing is pretty normal. I live in a place where we get snow nearly every year, but every now and then there's a bad storm and people just leave for the week to stay where it's warmer.
Listen if you are a politician and there is some sort of natural disaster going on in your state then that is not the time to hop on a plane for a nice vacation.
