I've heard that ALL public servants get a pension after twenty years of "service" while the People who are paying the bills get nothing. In fact, many are even taxed out of their homes in their old age.

Those are often part time as well. Most people in those positions never campaign, never talk to those they represent. Most of them are also left of center even in conservative areas. The reason is they want the power and conservatives want to be left alone. But look at where that has got us.
