My family is spread out all over NE TX and we're the only ones that lost power. I'm on the next-door app and this whole past week I've seen posts of neighbors bringing firewood to strangers, giving away free diapers to strangers who ran out, people sharing their food with those who under prepared. I have seen nothing but Texans really coming together to help one another. It got above freezing yesterday and I was able to get to the grocery store. Idk how to drive in the snow but I put my truck in 4wd and went really slow🤣. There wasn't much on the shelves bc they've not been able to have any deliveries. It wasn't crazy though. People weren't hoarding. People were kind. My only complaint was nearly everyone was wearing masks, as usual. SMH. Haven't heard a word about coronavirus since all this happened🤔
Austin has the favorable weather similar to California so it Cali with better cost of living and more freedom and attracts libs that can't afford California. Dallas has alot of yuppies that want to be "progressive" and compassionate - the liberal brand. Houston is pretty mixed but I think we also suffer from yuppies. San Antonio (bigger than Dallas if you didn't know) I'm guessing has to do with the immigrant demographic.

My nephew lost power for 2 days and, my daughter was in a town with rolling blackouts. Of course, my husband is from Buffalo and really insulated under the house and everything but, the actual town did pretty good. We must have better infrastructure here.
