You can also brace a socket bar against the chassis then crank the engine! That was my usual method

Yeah, I tried that a few times before going with the breaker bar. It didn't work, and I didn't want to stress the starter too much by keeping at it.

They wanted a couple of pull up bars, so I bought an 8 foot section of 1" steel gas line, and attached that down the handle of my 2 foot breaker bar, which was right angled onto a 2 foot drive extension, with that connection resting at the right height on the metal chest.

I started with the bar above my head and it was almost at the floor with me pumping up and down on it before the nut broke loose. That thing was tight.
