Why didn't Gov. Abbott override and/or ignore this?

Why did the <apparently leftist> ERCOT board go along?

Why are Chinese Nationals - possibly CCP members - working for such a mission-critical company?

Did similar requests and denials occur for LA and MS, which were also hit hard by power outages?

All good questions. Texas should kick the fed out of the State.

Don't ask the feds, just do it and then apologize later.

From how to get things done 101.

Abbott is a RINO faggot who refused to winterize the grid

Gonzotron5000 5 points ago +7 / -2

Abbot is the governor and does not work for power company/ERCOT. I would not want the government in charge of that or really anything. Government needs to winterize? Own the means of production? Sounds familiar.

Uh... State of Emergency? I think this fucking counts. What the fuck dude?

Nah bro government is supposed to do nothing besides leech our money.

Libertarians are retarded

He's totally fine with Biden doing it, though.

Like... WTF???

Women4Trump2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

Commie plan to make Texas suffer in case they decide to get more uppity.

I’m not even mad at Biden, I’m beyond pissed that my state didn’t tell the fed to go fuck themselves.

TheCandorist 6 points ago +6 / -0

Why doesn't the governor tell him to fuck off and do it anyway. It's what democrats do when they get told to stop destroying America.

Why didn't Texas say fuck you?

Texas leadership vacationing, knowing gullible MAGA will cover for them

So where does it specifically say it was denied? In the two documents presented so far in this thread? Thanks.

Why am I not surprised?

Why the fuck does Texas need DC's permission for anything?

3
AgnesDomini 3 points ago +3 / -0

Texas should have asserted Tenth Amendment rights, done it anyway, saved all the damages and dozens of lives. What could the DoE have done? Spanked us? Easier to apologize than it is to obtain permission!

I heard about the elderly man that passed away. I hope his wife recovers. The reports were the temperature was almost same inside as outside.

My deepest sympathy to anyone here related to or knew the gentleman and his wife.

The government can order people to freeze to death but don't you dare plan on fighting the government at any level or their alphabet agencies with infinite legal power will arrest you.

Freedomnc1776 2 points ago +2 / -0

TX should man up and fore them up anyway.

2
Christopian 2 points ago +2 / -0

Why don't they just do it

Now people are freezing to death.

Freeze is over. Now, we thaw

The line to get to the plumbing isle at lows was 1hr long and growing on Wednesday when I was there. I only know a couple people that did not have burst pipes. Alot of that could have been avoided by havi g the house powered and heated.

2
Hanging_Chad 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yup, wait-list for a plumber is like a week right now. A lot of that could have been avoided by shutting off the water at the water meter and gravity-draining the pipes prior to the freeze.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, wasn't this letter authorizing emissions standards to be exceeded?

SnowflakeJuice 0 points ago +1 / -1

I am confused, I read the Document, it says permission was granted.

This doesn’t look like a denial?

There was a response to this request from the DOE. Ercot could have run up their stations with the understanding that they’d have to pay the fines.
