Even when I was at school in the 80's all the teachers had such hard-ons for China. School visits to China were arranged at cost to parents - a private Catholic school sending dozens of kids to visit a nation that would throw a citizen in jail for being Catholic. My father served in Korea - adored Americans for their support - and he wasn't for a second sending his kid to fucking China.
