People coming in at such a quick rate won't assimilate. They'll stick to their groups and won't try to be part of the community. There'll be no social cohesion. Immigration has been good but now in the USA it needs to slow down. People will have no incentive in adopting the traditional Americans ideals of federalism and constitution. You may not feel welcome going to parts of town where you're an absolute minority. People don't change their views and value systems just by moving and many won't change at all. For them to change they need to feel like they need to assimilate which won't happen when so many others are coming so fast as well.

They create their own ghettos, self segregating. Whole towns and communities adhering to one race and one language, making the people who are natives to this country feel foreign in their own lands. This is unacceptable.

I wouldn't discount the role of technology. People coming over in the 19th century really were leaving it all behind. There was no flying back to the homeland twice a year. There was no spending all day on the phone with Scotland, no watching German TV. You couldn't send a check to France every month.
