The problem is there is a lack of checks and balances. The legislative, judicial and now executive branches are all corrupt. Both political parties are corrupt. The media is corrupt. The three letter agencies and military hierarchy are compromised. It seems like everyone in government is working for the same team and they are playing against the American people.
In the long run, there is no such thing, and can be no such thing, as "limited government," because once someone is accepted by others as a rightful master, and believes himself to have the moral right to rule, there will be nothing and no one "above" him with the power to restrain him.
