I would think the main question is how much force can the regime in power use against its own citizens. Basically all the rural areas can shut off passage into the liberal cities. Just look at how much of the US is red in county maps. Cities can’t grow enough food to feed the people, so can the regime get the military to open up passage.

In any event, I believe most of the low ranking military would not be willing to start bombing and shooting their own country folk to support a communist regime dedicated to destroying our country. I hope I’m right.
