I believe his exact words from an interview were “if you want to get rid of racism, stop talking about it”. They way he said the second part was awesome, he was almost laughing because it’s such a simple and straightforward solution and very obvious.
I sometimes wonder what would happen if it just wasn’t mentioned but it’s just not possible given the makeup of the country. This is the result of living in an integrated multi racial society where everything is seen through a racial lens.
I don't mean surpress it either. It is relevant sometimes. Right now we have acceptance or hatred forced upon us. The pressure to have an opinion is overwhelming.
In a more sane situation:
Some will want to live in colonies with their own kind
Some will enjoy the cosmopolitan cities.
Some will want to be left the fuck alone, alone.
Let people decide who they want to be around and who they want to avoid.
