The amount of signatures needed is 1,495,709, but there was a disqualification rate of 25% on the last recall effort so they are really aiming for 2Million signatures to make sure they have a safe amount of wiggle room. Unfortunately, if they can swing (steal) a presidential election by millions of votes in plain sight, this will will be peanuts for them. Nothing will change until action equals the outrage.
Is there any way to check if your signature was accepted? My wife and I signed months ago but I've heard they will disqualify over practically nothing.
In a reality-based world, even if half that amount signed were invalid, it should still direct Newscum that he's not truly representing a lot of constituents and he should change his stance...but, yeah....

I found no evidence to back up that claim, however, there is evidence for the claim that only 0.6% of mail-in ballots were rejected based on incorrect or missing signatures, which is certainly a bit strange, because the primary in the same year had a rejection rate of 1.5%, with less than half as many ballots cast.
So at the very least, this should cast some doubt on how thorough this signature verification was performed during the election.
As for the petition having a much higher rate, that's certainly to be expected, since anyone can go on the website and "sign", California voter or not. Very possible that some leftist groups told people to submit fake signatures to fool the organizers into thinking that they've met their quota, so this alone is not proof that there is fuckery afoot.
What we'd really need is some evidence that completely fake signatures made it through the election check, while almost identical signatures were rejected for the petition.

1.7 Million by now according to organizers. The Democrats in Sacramento are doing anything and everything than can to stop the recall from happening.

The organization that put together this last recall has already vetted and sorted out the signature ls. The 1.6million are verified.

I'm trying to verify this claim and I found multiple fact checks claiming that this is false:
