The result is that the workaholic male has no solid reason to break from routine and go after any particular woman. Which wouldn't be an issue except...you NEED at least one workaholic in the house to...afford the aforementioned house. Anything even approaching a major metro area, houses are going for $300-400K or more. So to pay for that with a wife that stays home, you need at least a $60K/year job. Go look up the actual stats on jobs that pay that much ($30hr PLUS solid benefits), it's an eye-opener. Once you've worked your way up and you finally get a job like that, do you REALLY want to risk it all for some random barfly who insists on complete and total adherence to current societal norms (set by promiscuous women) while still holding the ace in the hole (false rape/assault accusations)? We were all - Men and Women - told that the increase in availability of contraception would lead to EVERYONE being able to have sex more often with less consequences.
