There’s always more to the story.

Infuriating.

On the WaPo article someone gently asks about this fact (gets 3 upvotes) and the response w/ 34 upvotes is:

"Under normal conditions I would agree with you. But here we have a family living in a freezing cold mobile home for several days now, struggling along the way you might in a third-world country. No help in sight, just another freezing cold day, like the one before. So you assume your boy is snug and safe under all those blankets in his bad. And that feels like a relief to you.
SO you asked: what's WRONG with this picture? What's wrong is no heat, no water, no electricity, and no help coming anytime soon. IN AMERICA. That's whats wrong with this picture."

The other responses are equally retarded.

Americans are so stupid. What the fuck.

America was founded by people who did NOT rely on others to keep them warm, feed them, and provide them with water. PLANTS need this kind of care.

I hear you. This country is going the way of the third world very quickly.

Like the fact that the Dept of Energy refused to let Texas increase its wattage usage because of "Muh, climate change" policies that Biden put into effect. I'd say these people have a real shot at at least making waves with their attempt. It's kind of hard to keep your family warm when the U.S. government refuses to turn up the wattage. It's fucking ridiculous to say the least.

It’s ridiculous and people died as a result. Extra power for a week isn’t going to make “climate change bogeyman” happen an more or less quickly.
