In a Democrat controlled jurisdiction you especially need to keep that in mind. They will maliciously prosecute any use of a firearm for self defense.
Yes. If it’s a legit reason to pull a gun, it’s legit to kill or be killed - not much of a choice. Your life has to be clearly in danger and you have to fear for your life. They will try and fail to prosecute...but will make life miserable for somebody and cost them $$$. Best option is to move away from the threat before it can occur and during a situation. Have CCW protection and, nice as they may seem politely refuse to answer questions to the police until you speak with a lawyer.
