In my conceal carry class, the instructor basically said to not help or get involved in another person's problem. If you do, you'd likely get punished.
Warning shoots are not legal or ever ever ever appropriate in the USA. You pull the trigger you fire to end the threat. Period. Full stop.

Why should the risk of punishment stop us from doing the right thing? Yeah sure if I'm carrying I'm not going to get myself involved in a verbal altercation or whatever. But if I see someone getting robbed or beaten up you better believe I'm going to step in legal risk be damned.
