With a title like that, people automatically think Utah allowing illegals to be Police officers.... When it's actually NOT the case. The bill would allow lawful residents (Green card holders) that have been here at least 5 yrs to be Police officers. ...... Green card holders are able to work in any job they want except Government jobs. This bill would just strip the citizenship requirement to be a police officer, but you have to be a green card holder
Don't care. They are not citizens. It's one more cut beyond a slippery slope. We've had numerous spy's busted in our schools and companies.. there is no fathomable logical argument for this. Non citizens should not have any more status than legal citizens let alone authority above them
Sure you can Object to it, but I honestly don't see the downside of it when
1- Lawful permanent residents already have to abide by all state and federal laws
2- any lawful permanent resident is eligible to apply for US citizenship after 5yrs
