The robber made things personal. The guy's response was up close and personal in the way a shotgun shell just wouldn't be.

I'd guess that the shotgun might have misfired, or been stored unloaded. I suspect the weapon will be cleaned and loaded with fresh ammunition just in case history repeats itself.

If your dad owns a carpet cleaning company, then yes. Otherwise, probably not.

I seriously doubt my Dad has ever cleaned a carpet in his life, and not a helluva lot of anything else either. He's not big on cleaning.
