My moms cousins are 100% Mexican, now living In America.
They came decades ago, legally, and did everything the honest way.
They left mainly due to the growing violence. It was to the point where her cousin named Victor would fear for his life, getting death threats.
Essentially over NOTHING! He's a kind hearted family man, and in USA, has zero to worry about.
BTW, they are staunch Trump supporters. They believe in the American dream, and have become Americanized.
They love America, and hate to see illegal aliens be treated with respect. It's like spitting in the face of the millions of honest, hard working, good intentioned legal immigrants who had to spend years, thousands of dollars, and hundreds of hours of hard work to get here and become true Americans.
No illegal aliens should stay. None. If you are in a fucked up country like Venezuela, you need to apply for refugee status at our border, not in our country.
We're in a fucked up time in America. The way I see it is, our country will fail, but multiple states will form a new union, without leaving the current union.
They will defy the federal government, and protect their own from the reckless policies.
I hope this happens sooner than later. We're already starting to see a battle being of states rights VS federal Gov implementing policy.
And the fact sanctuary cities were allowed to go on set precedent for states to do the same for other policies, like gun laws.
We will win in the end... Or, we will all die trying.

As Governor, he'd actually wield more power over his people than as president, in the sense that governors really have control over their own state.
Small point of order: refugees are required to apply to asylum at the first safe country, they are not supposed to pick and chose the richest country. Venezuelans should be applying at the closest safe country, not all the way up at our border.
Not only that, but the drug money funds the pain and suffering.
We really need to end the drug war, not just for ourselves so we can get drugs legally, but also for the poor schmucks living in hell under the cartels.
I'm hoping that legalizing the drugs would solve that, as it would (hopfully) short money to the cartels. Something tells me they'd still use it as a wealth extractor here, though.
I mean, we have an illegitimately empowered dictator, but would you want anyone coming in and invading us?
I mean, I guess I would, but it really depends on who, what, when, where, why, and how.
In the case of Mexico, I honestly don't know if the US government is really any better than the cartels. Hell, the intel agencies basically created (and probably still operate) the cartels; I think we need to deal with our own problems before we go help Mexico.
That said, the best way to help them probably would be to defeat the Intel agencies. Without them, the Cartels would be headless; they'd probably get into way more fights and weaken themselves, allowing the people of Mexico to retake their country as well.
