I live in Oklahoma but was born in Texas and have lived there multiple times throughout my life so I have seen the cost comparisons of property tax vs. income tax and at the end of the day, with salary and property ownership assessed at an average level, the come close to balancing out...

I'm gonna be honest with you chief, that guy doesn't know what he's talking about, while we do have income tax, all our other taxes are significantly lower than other states.

My property taxes went from $3100 to $4800 over night after buying a new home.
Included are the stupid-high school taxes, which coincidentally, pay for the illegals who cross the border to get a free education on our dime.

Texas is not the only income tax free state.
But it's true there are no states without a property tax, some have a lower property tax than others.
