Would be neat to see a graph of spending on "equality" projects over time by the US government. I bet it would be shocking.

No, they didn't.

They sent money, but it had nothing to do with gender equality. It's just another way for slime politicians to funnel money back to himself. Pennies of every dollar actually go to fund what they're intended to fund.

I doubt we spent a single cent. This is money laundering by corrupt politicians and cia slush funding.

Yet we work with the Taliban on their new pipeline.

Look at pictures from Kabul in the 70s. Afghanistan was modern. It’s the religious extremists who are anti-feminist now but we are proving them up.

Bacha Bazi is a real thing.

religious extremists who are anti-feminist

There is one religion in the region that dominates and for those who follow it, being anti-feminist is normative, not extremist. Additionally, for those who follow this same religion, committing acts of terror against all non-adherents is also normative (prescribed in their holy book manual of hatred), not extremist.

Yeah but they were fairly modern prior to the Taliban. It’s similar to Iran pre-Islamic Revolution.

The people as a whole are unique from the ideas that are enforced.

The reason they were fairly modern prior to the taliban is precisely because normative Islam, as prescribed in the koran and ahadith was not being followed. Returning to following it, whether voluntary or forced, was precisely what brought them back to 7th century Arabian living standards of perpetual warfare and perpetual ignorance.

Not gonna argue there. I think fundamentalist Islam is by nature violent as opposed to say fundamentalist Christianity, Judaism, Sikhism, etc.

My point is solely that they -can- reconcile their culture with a more democratic approach.

We agree that Islam is violent, as prescribed and sanctified in their manual of hatred known as the koran, but my point is that what you refer to as fundamentalist, is really just normative, just as normative Christianity as prescribed is the New Testament is not violent.

To the degree that they are able to separate and remove the Islam from their culture (a nearly impossible task), to that degree they are then able to reconcile their culture with a less violent way of life.

Sad commentary on Islam that even vicious oppressive Communist rule was more civilized.

Depends man.. What the Russians did there was evil but some of the same stuff old Mujahadin told me the Russians did is what the Taliban do.

I think it’s safest to say that zealots will be zealots and 99% of people are just trying to live.

Mujahadin with child rape slaves chained to their beds?

Afghan females were at least considered human under the Communists. I'm not saying it was civilized or remotely humane, but they were better off when the Soviets were ruling them with an iron fist.

Today, almost all girls in Afghanistan are bought/sold/traded as rape slaves. Almost all "marriages" are forced and little girls who get caught reading, get executed. They're inbred and illiterate (clinically retarded), and they're all strung out on heroin and dying of AIDs because they have nothing to live for.

Communism dragged them out of the iron age for a minute. And the sad reality is that Afghanistan was once among the most sophisticated and advanced pieces of civilization on Earth. Before Islam.

I see you’ve never been to rural Afghanistan. While child sex slavery is a problem there it’s not how you portray it.

These are real problems but they are hardly “almost all”. These are confined to the more poverty stricken areas and even then they are taboo.

Inbreeding isn’t even common and clans know. To be inbred are stigmatized. Also heroin isn’t common... I was in Marjah, Sangin, and Musa Qala... fresh white opium is used and mixed with massage but heroin is more of an export.

Literally half the country is a product of inbreeding. Kabul has the lowest rate of inbreeding, at just under 40%. It shouldn't surprise you that this isn't the type of information that is casually volunteered. Go ask someone from a back woods holler in Appalachia if they're inbred. Or I can save you the effort and just use my psychic powers to tell you what their answer would be... 80% of their "marriages" are forced and the child has no choice. It's also illegal for her to testify about being sold or traded to a pedophile (married), not that it matters because the girl is legal property of her father and he is the one who accepts the "marriage" proposal.

Didn't know about the heroin specifically. The distinction isn't important though. The good news is that they've made some gains when it comes to literacy, and almost 1 in 3 girls can read. In another 50 years, half the country will be able to read.

Not sure where you got the notion that child sex slavery was taboo in Afghanistan though. If you ever visit again, see what happens if you explain that Mohamad "marrying" a prepubescent child was wrong.

Lol.

I’m Appalachian and live at the foot of a holler lol. Stop projecting your insecurities on other people.

You are talking shit about people and places without any knowledge thereof. Perhaps you ought to get out more.

You can't understand hard facts and numbers?

Or, are things just particularly bad in your particular holler so you don't think 50% inbreeding is a high rate of inbreeding?

PS I am aware that the hillbilly inbreeding stereotype is mostly false and based on specific isolated small populations. Was just a joke.

Though, you apparently think half the population being inbred is somehow me being insecure.

Nice that we have enough surplus money to blow on Afaghanistan and Pakistrannies.

That’s only in name. These money will go to whoever run these programs, most likely politicians’ family or friends, then they will donate back to politicians.

For every million dollar spent, I expected fewer than 1 person will work on the ground in Afghanistan on average.
