I frequently told people on the left that if there were something in Trump’s taxes that was illegal, the IRS would have arrested him in 2016 after he got the nomination. If Obama was able to sic the NSA on Trump, what makes you think he couldn’t do the same with the IRS?

It goes in one ear and out the other, and some of them are acting like his tax returns will have payoffs from Putin neatly listed on them. But I already know that New York probably has other reasons for looking at his taxes unrelated to criminal charges. They hate Trump more than the NRA, and they had no problem trying to bankrupt the NRA to virtue signal to anti-gun nuts.

Exactly. He's said he gets audited every single year, and you bet your ass if there was anything wrong he'd be toast already

Only problem is most normies dont know how anything works un the first place, so they're "learning" that all these constitutional violations are suppose to happen

Well it’s tax season, so some might be more open minded? Those WHO are awake are aware it’s ALWAYS tax season, we’ll have to wait and see?

My biggest pet peeve when debating people on taxes is that they don't understand how taxes change over time and how you can't compare them. For example, people will say that in the 1950s, the top tax rate was 90% but fail to realize that you could deduct much more things than you can today, for example credit card interest was 100% deductible so even the top 400 families rarely paid the top 90% bracket. Yet you'll have idiots arguing that the US GDP grew rapidly when the top rate was 90%, completely not knowing that there are significant differences between today's tax system and the 1950s tax system.

my mother still believes he only paid $750 in taxes one year

sure, it's $750, if you ignore the millions and millions of other taxes he paid

Don’t forget his $400,000 year salary given back to public programs. The man didn’t want to take a dime from us.

He has had his taxes prepared by a team of accountants for decades, but a single rounding error or typo in the tens of thousands of pages of documents per year, and they'll be whipping up impeachments and life sentence punishments within hours.
