The title is wrong. The supreme court did NOT allow the RELEASE of Trumps Tax returns, they allowed the prosecutor to obtain and subpoena the financial records, WHICH THEY HAVE TO. it says nothing about whether or not it's public record though.
Remember how the law works a lot on precedent. If SCOTUS ruled in the other favor, it would basically mean that the prosecutor in a lot of other instances would NOT be able to obtain financial records, this includes; mafia bosses, MS-13 bosses, the Bidens, Pelosi, Obama, Clinton etc.
Here's the thing, it's so obvious that this is malpractice and deserves an impeachment for abusing the office of DA against a political opponent, and I hope they find proof and fast, I also hope that the lawyers are smart and include a clause on handing over financial records, which gives a BIG punishment should they be leaked.
