The State is an inherently illegitimate institution of organized aggression, of organized and regularized crime against the persons and properties of its subjects… a profoundly antisocial institution which lives parasitically off of the productive activities of private citizens.
Sure, once you have not been paying attention to it and a certain tribe has gotten their hands on it, but reality is that government is a necessary thing in lieu of violence and rule of power and force. We don't even pay attention to local government that gets away with all kinds of corruption and incompetence, how are we expecting to keep tabs on the major league that attracts all the worst psychopaths at the federal level. That's precisely why they stripped the states of the power for the representatives of the sate legislatures … the local representatives elected by the local people … to decide on the electors that chose the president. And it is also why they stripped the state legislatures of the power to choose the senators and also recall them. Because it's way easier to manipulate the foolish dumb rabble than it is to fool and convince disciplined and principled men.
The only way we fix any of this is to take over the state legislatures and start nullifying unconstitutional federal law.
Of all the numerous forms that governments have taken over the centuries, of all the concepts and institutions that have been tried, none has succeeded in keeping the State in check.

Now judicial review, beloved by conservatives, can, of course, fulfill the excellent function of declaring government interventions and tyrannies unconstitutional. But it can also validate and legitimize the government in the eyes of the people by declaring these actions valid and constitutional.
