Twenty years ago on this day I found my mother dead. She was sick, so it wasn't a surprise, but it still hurts to this day. I'm grateful she didn't witness the towers falling in September of that year. And I'm very glad she hasn't seen what shit this country has turned into.

I am so sorry. May she rest in peace. Sometimes I think like that, too - people who passed away before things went to hell were spared these shitty, disgraceful modern times our nation has suffered. The Trump era was an exception.
